Support for the construction of a new Danish Maritime Museum in Helsingør. The current Commercial and Maritime Museum has been situated at Kronborg Castle since its establishment in 1915. After UNESCO’s inclusion of Kronborg Castle on the world’s cultural heritage list, major refurbishing of the castle and the surrounding area has been initiated. This has lead to a necessary relocation of the museum, while allowing for the construction of a new unique Maritime Museum in the new cultural area by Helsingør port. The Foundation has promised DKK 1 million per year for the next four years that it will take to construct the new Commercial and Maritime Museum – at a total of DKK 4 million.
